DAY 1:

Flying into Whitemark you start your island tour travelling to the east coast of the island stopping at Tobias Lookout for sweeping views of the north and east overlooking the soldier settlement properties. Then to Patriarchs Wildlife Reserve and to learn of one man's fight to protect the Cape Barren Geese and to establish the reserve, a beautiful setting for lunch.

Travelling south to Camerons Inlet, a breeding ground for wildlife, you will be able to see many of the northern waders that migrate to this area and be able to take a walk on the beautiful east coast beaches viewing Babel Island. Continuing south to the island's vineyard for tasting and the opportunity to purchase some the mouth-watering wines. Furneaux Tavern at Lady Barron, which overlooks the Franklin Sound and the many off shore islands, provides your accommodation.

DAY 2:

After breakfast you travel to Port Davies on the west coast of the island where you are divided up into two groups, one group enjoys a morning away on a charter boat, fishing and exploring the waters around Prime Seal Island and Marshall Bay.

Weather permitting some fish will be caught to BBQ for lunch (Island style) on return to shore. Our host for the day is Mike Nichols. The second group will visit historic Wybalenna Chapel and Cemetery and learn all about the sad history of the Aboriginal community who were transported here in the 1880's. The other group visits the island museum that houses written information, photos and artifacts of the past settlement of this beautiful island. After lunch the groups are reversed.

Day 3:

Today you travel to the northern part of the island stopping at Sawyers Bay to take in the magnificent views and then onto Mt Tanner for even more views of the west coast. A visit to Killiecrankie, the home of the famous Killiecrankie Diamonds, is a must. Continuing north to the North East River you take in the magnificent views over the Sisters Islands and along the beaches south to Babel Island. At the end of the day you return to Lady Barron to the Furneaux Tavern.

DAY 4:

This morning starts with a visit to Vinegar Hill Lookout for views across the many scattered islands of Franklin Sound. We take in the magnificent views over Adelaide Bay to Cape Barren Island and weather permitting can even see the wreck of the Farsund at the eastern end of Vansittart Island. The tour then moves to one of the most popular beaches of the island, Trousers Point. This area boasts of white sands, crystal clear turquoise waters, red lichens on the rocks and Mount Strzelecki that as a back drop makes this a favourite beach with everyone. After exploring the area we continue on to Whitemark for a chance to browse or purchase a souvenir before returning to the airport.
